August 27, 2003. LWS Base 3.0.3 and JSP 1.1.2 Released
The 3.0.3 version of the LWS Base Module and the 1.1.2 version of the LWS JSP Module were released today, bringing both modules in sync with the Tomcat 4.1.27 version and fixing a few other problems. See the release notes for details.

February 24, 2003. LWS JSTL 1.0 Released

January 28, 2003. LWS Examples Module Updated
The LWS servlet and JSP examples have been cleaned up and released as LWS Examples 1.0.1. You can download or upgrade to the new version using the JustGetIt module manager.
January 27, 2003. LWS 3.0.1 Released
Problems with the shortcuts generated on Windows XP/NT/2000 have been corrected and the scripts have been improved for all platforms. For Windows you must use the new installer to upgrade (uninstall LWS 3.0 first), but for all other platforms you can upgrade with the JustGetIt module manager.
January 20, 2003. LWS 3.0 Released

2002 Events

December 23, 2002. Java Enterprise Best Practices (O'Reilly) has just been released. This book brings together practical tips based on the experience of O'Reilly writers such as Jason Hunter (servlets), Brett McLaughlin (XML) and George Reese (JDBC), as well as a JSP chapter by Gefion Software's president Hans Bergsten.
August 30, 2002. The JavaServer Pages, Second Edition book (O'Reilly) by Hans Bergsten (Gefion software's president), is now released. Visit TheJSPBook.com for details.
July 8, 2002. Hans Bergsten, Gefion Software's president and founder, today joined the JCP specification group for JavaServer Faces (JSF), a forthcoming Java technology for development of user interface components for server applications in a distributed environment like the web.

2001 Events

July 30, 2001. InstantOnline Basic 3.0.1 is now available. It's a bug fix release, correcting a number of problems. Current IOB 3.0 licenses automatically cover the 3.0.1 version.
July 3, 2001. LiteWebServer 2.2.2 is now released. This release fixes security vulnerabilities, along with other bugs, and provides improved performance.

December 18, 2000. InstantOnline Basic 3.0 Beta 1 is now available. The 3.0 version introduces the JSP 1.1 syntax for all InstantOnline Basic components, while still supporting the old SSI syntax so you can migrate to the JSP syntax at your own pace.

November 23, 1999. Gefion software today announced the InstantOnline Basic for JSP Technology Preview, the first commercial web application development tool based on the new JavaServer Pages 1.1 specification. [Press Release]
November 15, 1999. A new product, the Enabler 1.0, is now available free of charge. The Enabler provides support for <servlet> tags in web servers with faulty or missing support for SSI, such as Sun/Netscape's iPlanet Web Server 4.0 and Sun's Java Web Server 2.0.
November 11, 1999. LiteWebServer 2.2 and WAICoolRunner 2.2 are now available, with support for the latest server-side Java APIs: Servlet 2.2 (PR1) and JSP 1.1 (PR2). The support license now covers the bundled Apache Tomcat JSP container as well. [Press Release]
